Sentimental businessmen

“The move will hurt the sentiments of the cricket fans”Vijay Mallya on the Government’s suggestion to postpone the IPL

When businessmen talk about sentiments, you can be sure that they are desperate. And when a hardcore businessman like Mallya does it, you can be doubly as sure. After burning all of his fingers in last year’s IPL and making it evident to the whole world what a bad loser he is, Mallya obviously is desperate to see some RoI, fast. In doing so, however, he has revealed another side of his personality: the politician in him. Who else would place such an argument?

Anyway, the point of the post is that more than the postponement of the IPL, it’s statements like this one, that reduce serious Cricket fans to mere brainless political chamchas that hurts more. You might want your returns Mr Mallya, but don’t mix your monetary sentiments with our love for the game.

Right on the money! He had a Test Team playing t20. BTW shouldn’t it be monetary.
