Another Friggin Browser?

This might happen to one of us very soon. Just look at how many browser options we have today:

  • Firefox
  • Opera
  • Internet Explorer
  • Safari
  • Flock
  • And now, Chrome

The browser wars are really heating up. But it’s the need of the hour cause it’s just a really big shame that the worst browser among the ones listed above holds the biggest chunk in the browser arena. This has to change and I hope sanity will prevail in the longer run.

Meanwhile I’ll stick to Firefox.

In one sentence you have offended millions. Great going there.

I have decided to stick with Firefox too.

People themselves never opted for that worst browser you are referring to, it was thrust upon them. It is mostly used by those ignorant people who don’t understand what browser actually does. BTW, Firefox will be my default browser but I am using chrome mostly to open Google apps.

Chrome sucks. Not as much as IE does, but still…. FF rules 😀

@Aravind: Thank you. Feels good to have done that. 🙂

@Ottayan, Sriniani and Liju: FF is the way to go, indeed!

Gimme Adblock (and some other Addons) for Safari and I’ll calmly Uninstall FF 😛

    And Flock? Abhi bhi chalra?

before FF, I used to use Maxthon, SlimB, Avant etc but I guess their better days are behind them now.

Chittaranjan, FF rules for the simple fact that there is an army of developers writing stuff for it. Its something no other browser can even dream to emulate.

I’ve tried out Safari and Opera, and in my opinion both are bloated and slow.

Firefox is still the best. If they can match some of the better features in the other browsers it will be way ahead.

let us see how it works out.

@Liju: True. If the same extensability can be extended (duh!) to Safari, it would become much better.

Opera is a trifle hard to work-on and not to great at the page load speeds either. On the other hand, Images are the only stuff that I see Safari has a problem with. Its rendering is better than FF with webpages.

    @Sathosh: What better features? I hope u aren’t talking abt IE 😐

Chrome is okay, not too great. Its still in beta though.

It craps on Javascript intensive pages and sometimes pages with Flash.

But its definitely better than IE 6/7 anyday. 🙂

Looks like IE 8 has also got some features now. Check it at
