Mayawati’s Gift to Chiru

“Mayawati, at a public meeting in Hyderabad on Sunday, allegedly snubbed film actors planning to join politics. Though she did not name Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, who is planning to enter Andhra Pradesh politics, she said actors could “only sing and dance”.”

Politics is all about knowing the pulse of the people and using it to your advantage. Well, OK, the second part of that sentence is open to debate, but the fact is for a politician to succeed in the Southern states of India, this is the worst possible way to kick-off your campaign. Actors are not mere actors here, they are the on-screen personification of the almighty himself. Eliminating 40-50 goons in a jiffy is something they are so good at, they don’t even need to practice it. Agreed, most of them know zilch about politics and rely mainly on their fan clubs to campaign for them. But hey, you don’t mess around with the likes of Chiranjeevi.

How well Chiranjeevi uses this opportunity presented to him by the benevolent Maharani Mayawati could give an idea about Chiru’s political acumen.

Mayawati obviously knows zilch about the pulse of AP’s people!

I dont have any great opinion about Mayawati. But i fully endorse what she says.

But then, we are a democracy and any Tom, Dick and Harry can enter politics. So, why not Chiru?

Not sure how chiru would fare … but NTR did prove that apart from dancing , stars could make decent politicians too 🙂 . and if one takes a look at othe side of fence, we have MGRs , Jayalalithas , MKs ruling since ages …

NTR made everybody else dance with his schemes – 2-rupee rice, etc.
