John Mathan has Gone Mad

I stumbled upon this disturbing/shattering piece of news today. It seems Himass Rechchamiya is going to play the lead role in John Mathew Mathan’s remake of Raja Hindustani. I remember Raja Hindustani for two and only two reasons:

1. The super long kissing scene between Aamir Khan and Karishma Kapoor

2. The song ‘Pardesi pardesi jaana nahi’. This song achieved cult status among beggars all over the country, especially the ones operating in Trains.

But the question that’s troubling me the most is why would a guy like John Mathan want to remake this film? Just ‘coz your previous venture sank without leaving any trace at the box office doesn’t mean that you should lose confidence in original scripts. Just pay some money to one of the hundreds of scriptwriters roaming around in Mumbai and I am sure you’ll get a decent script. And even if you did chose to remake a movie, why on earth would you choose Raja Hindustani, which itself was a remake of an older Hindi film? OK, I can forget even that piece of history, but why oh why cast Himesh in the lead role? Immense pain it gives me when I see the fall from grace of a guy like John Mathew who promised so much with Sarfarosh.

Now for one more gory detail about the film.

Himesh’s intense love story will be a socialistic plea and he will also play a guy from the streets who falls for a very rich girl.

What? You mean Himass is not going to play himself? No HR? What that basically means is that he is actually going to try acting, could anything be  scarier than that? I wonder what Aamir Khan would have to make out of that.

Anyway, I can’t take this anymore. I am retiring for the weekend. Bye bye.

Sarfarosh happens to be one of my favourite Aamir Khan movie (another reason being it stars Sonali Bendre). Simply cant believe that the maker of such a good movie came out with Shikhar.

    and now…Him’ass’. My god….save us.

Fulto time pass topic for all Himesh haters. This makes me doubt the originality of Sarfarosh story. John had already shown the idiot in him by taking more than 5 years to make a dumb movie and of course waiting for Aamir Khan.

Any chance the movie’s gonna be called ‘Baja Hindustani’??
And pray, if Kumar ‘Nasal’ Sanu can make a hit out of Pardesi, why can’t Himesh do 👿

“if Kumar ‘Nasal’ Sanu can make a hit out of Pardesi, why can’t Himesh do”

Right. that way he can sing every hit song sung by Kumar Sanu. And forget his singing, who will tolerate his acting? you? 😆

Everyone can’t be a Frank Sinatra or a Kishore Kumar….

We got to hand it out to this guy….Sonu Nigam did and flopped, Kumar Sanu did and flopped…Udit Narayan also did and flopped…but Himesh’s movie was a success…and he’s bold enough to try it out again! WTG!!!

I was talking about his ability of not being able to act. You want to tell me his movie succeeded ‘coz of his acting? no! it was only because of the hype created around the so called ‘phenomenon’!

    Hi Everyone,
I want to clarify a few things here. First and foremost, John is not making a remake of Raja Hindustani and the second his that this script which start Himesh Reshamiya is an original script with a totally original concept. HOW DO I KNOW? Becasue I am the one who wrote the script. If you can google me, you will know that I am the original writer of IQBAL and even this and the other script which I have sold to John is a pure and original entertainer. the second is about Himesh, as a writer I would like to tell you that Himesh is perfect for the role that I have written for him and this film will be a surprise to everyone and the surprise package will be non other than HIMESH.
