Ze first day!
Joined the new workplace today :D.The induction program – thats what they called it – seemed more like a instruction calss of what not to do at the place. It lasted for about 45 mins. However, when I got to see all the eye candy around the place my disappointments were washed away . Sadly the place is such that everyone just sits at his/her desk jabbing away at the keyboard. That is why me and one of my 'co-joinees' have decided to make the place a bit more lively in the days to come. How far we are going to succeed remains to be seen. But if we fail then it'll b a major blow to my prospects there. Coming as I do from a place where no one bothered what I did as long as the job was done, this place seems like a jail!
The job profile seems to be very interesting and challenging. I will be involved in the development from the product from the scratch. Well, not really the scratch since the idea is already generated, but the product is still at a nasecent stage. So looking forward to the expirience.
Another noticible culture over here is the existence of some rules which no one follows. The management is fully aware of this. I hope they are scrapped ASAP since it makes them look stupid. I also hope that a bit more of freedom as given to our group, since we will b doing something no one newhere in the organisation does, authorship! It will be adisaster if we are lockd up in a place and asked to b there for 9 hrs a day with all sorts of useless restrictions on the accessing of the www (read the first line of para ).
With the kind of pay me is getting, me can make a few adjustments, but not too many :nono:. Khair, I am hoping for the best. let's see what the coming few months have in store.
