…that the Board of Control for Cricket in India had a website? Here’s what it looks like:

Don’t bother going there though, ‘coz this is the only page it has got. No wonder, then, that this awesome site does not appear anywhere in the top ten results of a web search for the term ‘bcci’.
It gets even more embarrassing when another web search reveals that even the The ‘United States of America Cricket Association’ has got a website of its own.
But fear not. The BCCI sleuths have decided to set right this wrong and provide us with a ‘best breed of web portal’. Whatever that means. And for creating this auspicious website, they’ve gone for a bidding process. Bidding process to create a website?! You may ask, and here’s the answer:
Bid documents can be obtained from BCCI office at Wankhede Stadium from Thursday 1000 hrs onwards for a non-refundable and non-adjustable amount of Rs five lakh and the bid must be submitted by 1200 hrs on November 17, after which the BCCI Marketing Sub Committee will open the tender.
Eat your heart out if you are a website designer but that’s what I call making some cool money when you should actually be spending it. Thisdeserves a Hats off!
The biggest tragedy of Indian cricket is that while its board knows how to make money, it’s a dumb ass when it comes to spending the same.
