Mushy’s Emergency

8 years after he sold the Pakistanis a dummy, Mushy has done it again. This time he’s taken over the judiciary as well, which had been giving him a lot of constipation over the last few weeks. So, he has gone ahead and taken the julaab ki goli.

I was chatting with my friend gyanster yesterday and inadvertently typed something on the lines of “Pakistan’s return to Democracy is even more unlikely now”. And then I realised, was there ever democracy in Pakistan? What will they return to?

Shekhar Gupta of Indian Express said on TV, “Pakistan is as bad a dictatorship as India is a democracy”. Meaning, like India doesn’t give its citizens all the rights that they should be getting in a democracy, Pakistan would not be as harsh a dictatorship. In my opinion that’s an utterly stupid comparison to make, because it ends right there. In the end, India is still a democracy while Pakistan isn’t. In a democracy, problems get solved over a period of time. This does not happen in a dictatorship. Here the countries fate rests on the whims and fancies of an individual and his goons. That’s what is happening in Zimbabwe too. It’s a shame that this is being done in the name of democracy.

Passing thought occurs: Wonder what’s going through the Pakistani cricketers’ minds. Will they be able to play the same way now? I won’t be surprised if a few of them decide to stay back and call their families over to this side of the border.

Umm. The cricketers will be ok. In a dictatorship it is the middle class and poor people who are actually affected.

Don’t worry about cricket players-they are away from home now and they will return home with fat cheques tucked safely in their suitcases.Once the cricket match starts the emergency situation or crisis will be sidelined.

    Hey Aravind and Pundit,

I know that was too far fetched
Would be great if something like that happened though.

    Hey Lazybug,

I read this morning that the Australian cricket team is unlikely to tour Pakistan as a result of the unrest. What is going on in that country is pretty concerning. Unfortunately we are not receiving very insightful coverage in Australia (we have an election shortly so not much else is being covered).

    Hey JB,

The way Mushy is behaving, no team would want to tour that place, unless of course he surprises everyone by going for elections scheduled in January. And that is highly unlikely.

@LB: U mean they might be apprehensive as to the situation back home and how it might affect their families? That, yes. But sport-wise it will be no change.

And yeah, political conditions in countries like Pakistan, SL, Zimbabwe do affect sporting ties also.

P.S: The image ain’t opening at Theodoresworld either :|

More than 2 links in a comment makes it a ‘Spam’ :P

If I’d not have told that, we might have suspected Akhy to be showing Dictatorship in this Lazybugistan :D
