8 years after he sold the Pakistanis a dummy, Mushy has done it again. This time he’s taken over the judiciary as well, which had been giving him a lot of constipation over the last few weeks. So, he has gone ahead and taken the julaab ki goli.
I was chatting with my friend gyanster yesterday and inadvertently typed something on the lines of “Pakistan’s return to Democracy is even more unlikely now”. And then I realised, was there ever democracy in Pakistan? What will they return to?
Shekhar Gupta of Indian Express said on TV, “Pakistan is as bad a dictatorship as India is a democracy”. Meaning, like India doesn’t give its citizens all the rights that they should be getting in a democracy, Pakistan would not be as harsh a dictatorship. In my opinion that’s an utterly stupid comparison to make, because it ends right there. In the end, India is still a democracy while Pakistan isn’t. In a democracy, problems get solved over a period of time. This does not happen in a dictatorship. Here the countries fate rests on the whims and fancies of an individual and his goons. That’s what is happening in Zimbabwe too. It’s a shame that this is being done in the name of democracy.
Passing thought occurs: Wonder what’s going through the Pakistani cricketers’ minds. Will they be able to play the same way now? I won’t be surprised if a few of them decide to stay back and call their families over to this side of the border.
