As I write, the third test between India and England in the Pataudi Trophy (yes that’s what they are playing for) at Oval is already underway and India is cruising at 161 for 1. From what I gather, it’s a belter of a track as is evident from the start that India got after Dravid won the toss and chose bat. Imagine Jaffer hitting a six in the first session of a test!
In my opinion, this is the best chance that has come India’s way in the recent past to win a test series abroad comprehensively. It was sickening to see them go down 2-1 to the Africans after leading the series 1-0 with a fantastic victory at Jo’burg. Critics and commentators have wasted no time in pointing this out and I am sure Dravid knows it too.
If achieved, this will be an awesome thing to happen to Indian cricket.
